Experienced Casual Section Waiters & Hospitality Professionals

Start: ASAP Where: Melbourne, VIC Type: Part time / casual Pay: $34-45 per hour

JOB DESCRIPTION

Hofbräuhaus Melbourne is looking for experienced hospitality people to join our floor team.

We are Melbourne’s most iconic German restaurant, proudly serving guests since 1968. Our venue is busy, lively and full of atmosphere, with German Bier, traditional food, live music and a team that genuinely loves hospitality.

We are looking for experienced casual team members who enjoy real service, guest interaction and working in a high-energy restaurant environment. This role is ideal for confident section waiters, strong all-rounders, and hospitality people who may be ready to step towards a supervisor role.

About the Role

This is a casual position with consistent hours available for the right person. (20-30hrs per week)

We are looking for someone who can bring warmth, confidence and professionalism to the floor. You will be looking after guests, running a section, explaining our food and beer offering, and helping create the fun, welcoming experience Hofbräuhaus is known for.

This is not just an order-taking role. Our guests come for the full experience, so we are looking for people who care about service, atmosphere and making guests feel genuinely welcome.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide friendly, confident and attentive service in a busy restaurant environment
  • Run a section and manage your tables with care and accuracy
  • Guide guests through our German food, beer and beverage offering
  • Create a warm and welcoming experience for first-time guests and regulars
  • Work closely with the floor team, bar and kitchen during busy services
  • Support the team during events, live music nights and high-volume periods
  • Bring a positive attitude and help lift the energy of the venue

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar hospitality role
  • Confidence running a section in a busy restaurant
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and guest service
  • A friendly, calm and professional approach under pressure
  • Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
  • Availability for evenings and weekends
  • Interest in German beer, food and culture is a big plus, but not essential
  • Previous supervisor experience is highly regarded, but not required

Why Join Hofbräuhaus Melbourne?

At Hofbräuhaus Melbourne, we believe hospitality should be warm, genuine and fun. Our motto is simple: we are friends serving friends.

You’ll be joining a young, energetic and supportive team that cares about good service, good food, good beer and a great atmosphere.

We offer:

  • Strong casual rates paid under the Restaurant Industry Award MA119
  • Level 2, 3 or 4 pay depending on your experience and responsibilities
  • Consistent weekly hours for the right person (20-30hrs per week)
  • Proper training in German food, Bier and service
  • Staff meals and a supportive team environment
  • Career growth opportunities for people who want to step up
  • A workplace with live music, events, regular guests and real personality

About You

You are someone who enjoys hospitality, not just the job itself. You like talking to guests, working with a team, learning new things and taking pride in a great service.

You do not need to know everything about German food or beer before you start. We can teach that. What we are really looking for is someone with the right attitude, confidence, warmth and willingness to learn.

How to Apply

Please apply through Barcats with your resume.

A short cover letter is welcome, especially if you would like to tell us why you enjoy hospitality or why you think Hofbräuhaus Melbourne would be a good fit for you.

We look forward to hearing from you.
